Pub History

The frontage of the Kings arms is Victorian, but the steeply pitched roofs at the rear of the building belong to a much earlier period.

Parts of the Kings Arms are even believed to date back to the 16th century. The exterior of the Kings Arms is notable for it's single Gothic turret and its inn-sign , which bears a reproduction of the arms of the English monarchy.

Etched on one of the windows is the Royal Standard of England. The Kings Arms Hotel which stands close to the Stansted Railway Station, is flanked by an ancient slate roofed barn with a frontage of blackened timber.

Boxer Dogs

Nearly every landlord of the Kings Arms Hotel has had a Boxer Dog ? Strange but true.......

As you see in the picture to the right, the inside of the pub has a painted ceiling with some of its former Boxers on parade. The current dogs name is Lucy.

The Kings Arms is Haunted

"NO" I hear you say but yes it's true, the main areas are room 5 and the cellar, there are strange goings on in both these places so keep um peeled.

Also we have a problem with the glasses falling off the shelves in the lounge bar (by themselves) onto the floor and not breaking.....SPOOKY
